Delivering Better Health Through Design

The Summer Leadership Summit (SLS) is co-organized by the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health and the American College of Healthcare Architects.

Our health system must sustain the constant challenges of delivering high quality care with improved outcomes as we endure the continuous push for greater operational efficiencies with less staff, supply chain shortages, tightening reimbursement models, and rising supply and utility costs. The built environment must support this challenge.

We will explore an agenda that highlights the complexities and everchanging dynamics impacting staff retention as an aging staff leaves the industry and post pandemic issues are driving shortages in the work force. How will the reduction of resources, staff, access to supplies and reimbursement, drive integration of technological advancement to support efficiencies, minimize waste, improve outcomes, and lower costs?

Will providing more healthcare, with less money and fewer resources ultimately lead to impacts in the quality of care?
