How has ACHA certification been useful with clients and/or firms?
ACHA certification has led to my inclusion in increased marketing material and proposals, especially towards clients who recognize the value of the credential.
Why would you advise architects and designers interested in the field to pursue ACHA certification?
ACHA certification has enabled me to deepen my healthcare knowledge specific to the field of architecture. This knowledge has helped develop a better understanding of how architecture impacts the care of people.
How has ACHA certification enhanced your career in healthcare architecture and/or design?
In my past healthcare experiences, I have toured existing healthcare facilities looking at their functionality, efficiency, and departmental relationships.
Through the evaluation of existing facilities, architects can capture a snapshot of where a healthcare facility is currently.
This snapshot begins to tell the story of where revitalization and growth may be needed.
The ACHA certification digs deeper into the specifics of hospital planning.
Planners begin to understand the types of spaces necessary for individual departments as well as the volumes that make them profitable.
